Hello and welcome to another blog post here at PFS Kitchens, the kitchen designers and fitters based in Coalisland in Co Tyrone. Today in our blog we are looking at some tips on the best way to organise your kitchen. Utilising the space in your kitchen well can play a big part in getting optimum enjoyment from it. So here goes:
Organising Your Kitchen Space
Firstly how about a good old de-clutter? Take everything out of your kitchen cabinets and cupboards and make decisions about what needs to stay and what needs to go. I am sure you will find many pots and pans that are well past their best along with some out of date tins and packets of food. You will also probably find you have duplicates of so many things which you can either sell on eBay or a car boot sale, or take to the local charity shop.
Sort all your kitchen items into groups. So put all the baking items together, all the alcohol together etc etc. You will find that this will make life so much easier.
Think about where you want to store all your kitchen items. For instance you want all your cooking equipment along with your herbs and spices near to the oven and any bins near to the kitchen door.
Have various zones in the kitchen such as one where you want to make your coffee and tea and sit down and enjoy a drink. And one for where you do your baking etc.
Make sure you have everything well labelled and ensure you use the items with the shortest sell by date first.
Finally store all the items that you rarely use in the upper cabinets and all the things you use on a regular basis in easy reach so you are not stretching up all the time.
All the above tips are common sense really but they are things that people rarely get around to doing. But if you have a few spare hours it would be well worth your while getting stuck in and organising your kitchen to more suit your lifestyle.

Country kitchens are hugely popular right now across the UK so if you are renovating your kitchen space this may be something that is of interest to you. The move towards country style kitchens is due to the fact that consumers love the traditional, authentic feel of them and as they often incorporate the kitchen island it makes them very much the way to go as more and more people want kitchens for both cooking and entertaining in.
